UDINUS PLAYS ROLE IN RAKERNAS ABPPTSI 2017
The commitment of the organizers (foundation) in improving the quality of education is one of the challenges for Private University (PTS) because the quality of PTS will be determined by managing higher education. "In this case the role of the Association of Private Higher Education Administering Agency Indonesia (ABP-PTSI) has contribution to improving the quality of PTS. University of Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) continues to persuade the entire academic community to offer the best for education, "said Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom Udinus as the Rector in the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) ABP-PTSI of 2017 on Friday, March 17th until Saturday, March 18th 2017.
The Deputy Governor of Central Java Drs. Heru H. Sudjatmoko, M.Si opened the Rakernas on Friday, March 17th 2017 at Wisma Perdamaian. Some representatives of ABPPTS from across Indonesia attended the event. Meanwhile, on Saturday, March 18th 2017, interactive dialog from Director General of Science and Technology (IPTEK) and Higher Education (DIKTI) Institution, Dr. Patdono Suwigyno, Director General of Resources, IPTEK and DIKTI, Prof. Ali Ghufron Mukti, M.Sc, Ph.D, a Chairman of ABP-PTSI Centre, Prof. Dr. Thomas Suyatno, also the Keynote Speaker, Prof. Menristekditi H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D was held at the hotel Semesta Semarang.
The Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (KEMENRISTEKDIKTI) said that the quality of PTS should be improved. They compared the number of university and the population. In Indonesia, there are 4,512 universities for 255 million people, while in China there are 2,824 universities for 1.4 billion people. “We urge the small PTS merge with the others so that the quality could be better. And we will provide guidance for the improvement of accreditation, “said Kemenristekdikti. (* PR)
