PRACTICE TO BE AN ANNOUNCER IN UDINUS RADIO SWARA DIAN
Radio Swara Bureau of Faculty of Engineering, Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) held a workshop for new announcers at the Hall of Building E on Sunday, April 2nd 2017. The workshop with a theme ‘How to be A New Broadcaster’ has invited two speakers i.e. Myra Azzahra, a presenter of TVKU, and Aldo Ferdinand, an announcer of Trax FM.
Myra said that ‘flight hours’ are the main point that led her to become news presenter. "I started my career to be free-MC in some events,” she said. As a broadcaster and a presenter, they are required to show their characteristic so that the audience could remember who they are. Aldo said that someone must be consistent with his/her characteristic that he/she has showed in public. "If Myra has serious characteristic because she is a news presenter, I prefer relax and droll" he said. For him, the first seven minutes was determinant whether the audience will pay attention to him or not. So, he well prepared the first seven minutes before he start.
In this event, the participants did practice to be a presenter and an announcer, and then Myra and Aldo gave them some advices. Not only Udinus’ students, several students from other campuses also attended the workshop. James, one of the participants from Unika Soegidjapranata, was practice to be a radio announcer in front of the other participants. His flat voice made the audience laugh out loud.
