UDINUS FIK CONDUCTS TRAINING FOR RPL LECTURERS
The development era, the world demands, and the enacted of the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) encourage human resources in Indonesia to increase self-competence. The Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) held training on Software Engineering (RPL) in the meeting room of Building H on May 3rd 2017.
RPL lecturers from various universities in Java attended the RPL training. There were 30 lecturers of Udinus and 24 lecturers from various cities, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Kudus, Surakarta Jember, Surabaya, and Semarang. "We want to improve the quality of education such as RPL. That is why there are colleagues of RPL lecturers from outside Udinus. This is the one of Udinus' efforts to invite other universities to move forward together, "said Dr. Abdul Syukur as the Dean of Udinus FIK.
In this training, they were invited an Informatics speaker who currently teach at the Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), Dr. Inggriani Liem. Inge, her nickname, said that it is very important for RPL lecturers to have a set of case studies, the stories behind it and creativity. "A lecturer who have these three things will make students more creative, not bored, and can not cheat to do their paper," said Inge.
The teaching challenge now is many such as online software, the study program (Prodi) that has been able to make software, the technology that changing faster and so the lecturer must be adaptive when the burden of teaching is high.
"With those challenges, it makes lecturers more creative to choose teaching materials, increase the competence in the software, as well as increase the ability to organize real projects to build the software world in Indonesia," added Inge.
From all the materials, Inge emphasized that successful university is they who can advance the community, for example, conducting the community service according to the needs of environment. (* PR)
