THE ROADSHOW OF MUSEUM AMBASSADOR OF CENTRAL JAVA IN UDINUS
"When a nation is a family, then the museum is an album that stores the history from time to time". The museum that becomes the tourist destination needs more socialization to raise its prestige.
The Roadshow of Museum Ambassador of Central Java was held in the hall of the 3rd floor of building E of Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) on Wednesday, May 17th 2017. This event invited the young generation to love history. It is a concern of Ranggawarsita Semarang museum’s organizers and the Museum’s Ambassador to the phenomenon of the young generation who prefers to hangout to the mall rather than visits the museum. According to the Department of Culture and Tourism (Dinhubpar), in January to October 2016, the number of museum visitors decreased 40% over the previous year.
Rukardi, the Managing Editor of Suara Merdeka, said that the roadshow with the theme "Museum, Traveling and Youth" could be an alternative to eliminate the old and negative impression about the museum in the young generation. "Young people who like to hang out in the museum is cool, but in a positive way," he added. The roadshow also invited Anggi Eksar, the Male Tourism Ambassador of Central Java 2015 (Mas Duta Wisata Central Java 2015) and Ajeng Ratnasatri, the Museum Ambassador of Central Java 2014 (Duta Museum Jawa Tengah 2014) as speakers.
Meanwhile, Suhartati, the Head of Central Java Museum Services Section conveyed the Roadshow was the second activity after it was held in Unnes. "This roadshow is different from the previous one, we displayed some museum collection outside the hall," she explained.
This program is a 1000 steps program to promote the museum through the Museum Ambassador, which is selected this year. "We are the connector for the museum," said Chandra Bagus Pratama the coordinator of the event, which also became the Ambassador of Central Java Museum 2016. (* humas)
