Several students of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) once again attained non-academic accomplishments. Currently, eight medals have been earned by these talented athletes of various different sports branches, namely, taekwondo, wall climbing, and chess.

Those national accomplishments were earned in December 2022, with six of them being gold medals and two of them being silver medals. In the wall climbing sports branch, two medals were grasped by Aditya Tri Syahria in the Men’s Speed WR Relay category and Berthdigna Devi in the Women’s Speed Relay category. Both of those athletes are students of the Undergraduate Communication Science Department at Udinus.

Furthermore, in the Taekwondo sports branch, Shaleha Fitriana Yusuf, a Postgraduate Management student, managed to earn the gold medal in the Women’s U-62kg Category. Meanwhile, two silver medals were brought by Anggara Wahyu, an Undergraduate Management student, and Aurellius Marvel Graciano Rimarco, a Visual Communication Design student. Both of them were able to achieve the medals in the Senior Team Poomsae category.

In the chess sports branch, Evi Juli Ana, an English student, managed to get three medals in the Women’s Single Blitz Chess, Women’s Single Fast Chess, and Women’s Single Classic Chess category. The medals were garnered by Evi at the Regional Sports Week VII Berau, East Kalimantan.

“These non-academic achievements are truly tokens of pride for us, as we could essentially make a name for our campus on the national level. I truly cannot thank you enough for the support provided by the academic community to us,” Evi uttered.

Additionally, Dr. Kusni Ingsih, the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs, also expressed her pride in the attainment accomplished by students. She further revealed that students could get at least one accomplishment every month. This indicates that the academic community has properly facilitated students to participate in both academic and non-academic competitions.

“I hereby congratulate students for achieving medals for their respective contingent and Udinus. For that reason, we shall reward students with national or international accomplishments with scholarships,” she concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
