CELEBRATING THE NATIONAL DAY OF ANTI-DRUGS (HANI) 2023, RUMAH SAHABAT UDINUS ORGANIZATION INVITED STUDENTS TO DECLARE WAR AGAINST DRUGS

Rumah Sahabat Organization Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) invited the youths to declare themselves as anti-drugs advocates. This event was organized to commemorate the national day of anti-drugs (HANI) 2023, held on Monday, June 26th, 2023, at the auditorium of H Building, 7th floor, Udinus Semarang.
 
With a total of 100 high schoolers and college students from Semarang. Before the declaration, all of the contestants received information about the danger of drugs and how to avoid them. The lecture was given through a seminar with the topic of “Saving the nation by fighting against drugs.” Which was conducted with the theme of “Creative Youth Without Misuse of Drugs.
 
The event was attended by AKBP Edy Sulistyanto, S.E., M.H., the head of the central police anti-drugs unit in Semarang, who delivered a lecture on preventing and combatting drug misuse and the illegal drug trade.
 
He emphasized that numerous laws were in place to combat drug abuse, stating, "In accordance with Decree No. 35 of 2009 regarding narcotics, perpetrators of drug misuse can face life imprisonment or a minimum of 5 years in jail."
 
He also talked about the danger of consuming drugs. Stating that it was not only affecting the individuals who used drugs but also impacts to others. Drug users could end up in prisons, hospitals, and even lose their lives. He warned, "An increase in the number of drug addicts within a country leads to societal conflicts and poverty, ultimately resulting in the destruction of a country and its people. 
 
He stated “The increasing numbers of drug addicts in a country will lead to conflict and poverty in society. Eventually, the destruction of a country and a nation cannot be avoided.”
 
Udinus, which had already acquired a "Free Drugs College" certificate from the Indonesian National Narcotics Board (BNN) Central Java Province, committed to conducting the P4GN program (prevention, eradication, abuse, and drug dependency). Dr. Guruh Fajar Shidik, M.Cs., the Vice-Chancellor for General Affairs, Finance, and HR of Udinus, acknowledged the susceptibility of college students to drug abuse and mentioned various measures taken by the university to combat the issue. These include organizing anti-narcotics seminars, conducting drug tests, and requiring a report on drug-free usage as a prerequisite for becoming a candidate student at Dian Nuswantoro University.
 
“We are aware of it and we are trying to fight against drugs. For example, conducting a seminar on anti-narcotics and drug tests through urine gradually. A report of free drug usage is also one of the requirements to become a candidate student of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro,” uttered Dr. Guruh.
 
The supervisor of narcotics of Central Java BNPP, Jamaluddin Ma’ruf S.Farm., Apt., Highlighted that many kinds of activity can be done by the young generation instead of doing drugs.
 
Aszra Pramudya Cahyono, the chief executive, hoped that this event would suppress the number of drug addicts and warn the young generation about the dangers of drugs.
