Many accomplishments in various sports branches were gradually earned by athletes from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). Recently, Affan Mauludana Pratama, a Management Student at Udinus, won first place at the Tytyan Kencana Cup III—a National Ping Pong Competition—in the Men’s U19 Category.

The competition was hosted by the Table Tennis Association Tytyan Kencana in Bekasi. There were athletes from various regions competing at the event, which took place in a sports building located at the Tytyan Kencana Residential Area, North Bekasi Sub-district, Bekasi, on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

Affan Raih Juara 1 pada Kejuaraan Tenis Meja Tytyan Kencana Cup 3

Affan claimed that the accomplishment wouldn’t be possible without his rigorous training. He stated that he practiced his abilities by joining a club named Sukun.

“At the club, I trained two times a day, in the morning and the afternoon. Aside from that, I also did other preparations for the Tytyan Kencana Cup III. With my effort, I was able to secure first place,” he uttered.

Despite his busy training at the club, Affan still prioritizes his obligation as a student. He always spares his time to attend lectures and do assignments. Having studied at Udinus for one and a half years, Affan admitted that he received immense support from the campus.

“For three semesters, the campus, particularly, the Student Affairs Bureau, has been supporting me. They managed to somehow push me to attain accomplishments, without me abandoning my studies completely. Hopefully, the campus will also support its other athletes as well, as they deserve more support than I do,” he revealed.

In response to Affan’s accomplishment, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, congratulated Affan for his phenomenal performance. This accomplishment will also get an appreciation from the campus as a form of support to further motivate its athletes.

“Students will receive full support from Udinus for their academic or non-academic accomplishments, including sports. We will also grant our accomplished athletes with scholarships as a form of appreciation,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Dok. Pribadi)
