Rabu (19\/7), Prodi Manajemen Perhotelan menggelar seminar Food Nation : Opportunities In Food Industry di Gedung H lantai 1 Udinus Jalan Imam Bonjol Semarang.<\/div>\n<div>\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n\tSebanyak 54 peserta dari berbagai SMA\/SMK, instansi hotel &nbsp;dan Balai Pelayanan Penempatan dan Perlindungan Tenaga Kerja Indonesia (BP3TKI) turut menggali pengetahuan mengenai makanan di sini. Ketiga Chef yang mengisi adalah Chef Murtaza Alialakhia seorang Konsultan Makanan Halal di UK, Chef Patrick Milligan juga sebagai Konsultan makanan dari Irlandia, dan Chef Patrick Milligan Jr yang merupakan Finalis Master Chef Junior Indonesia.<\/div>\n<div>\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n\tPatrick menganjurkan pelaku usaha dibidang kuliner agar memulai usaha dari skup kecil terlebih dahulu seperti makanan-makanan yang digemari oleh lidah sendiri. &ldquo;Dari skup kecil yang kita ciptakan, kita bisa mulai membuat pasar atau menentukan segmen usaha dibidang kuliner,&rdquo; jelasnya. Chef dengan latar belakang pendidikan di bidang kuliner lebih dinamis dalam berinovasi ketimbang mereka yang datang secara otodidak.<\/div>\n<div>\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n\tHal yang sama juga diungkapkan oleh Murtaza. Chef berlatar belakang pendidikan linier dapat dengan mudah membuat inovasi makanan dengan mengombinasi cita rasa berbagai masakan autentik Asia dan Eropa. Pecinta Bakso ini juga menjelaskan banyak restoran di UK memiliki sertifikat halal dari Halal Food Authority (HFA). Banyak restoran mengaku meningkat penjualannya dengan memiliki sertifikat halal karena konsumen muslim bisa masuk. &ldquo;Prosedur perolehan sertifikat halal di UK hampir mirip dengan di Indonesia,&rdquo; jelasnya.<\/div>\n<div>\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n\tKetua Prodi ST Manajemen Perhotelan Udinus Dr. Raden Arief Nugroho SS., M.Hum menjelaskan tujuan dari penyelenggaraan acara ini adalah memperkenalkan anak sekolah dan peserta lain tentang bagaimana cara memulai terjun ke industri kuliner. &ldquo;Seperti yang kita tahu, saat ini industri kuliner tengah naik daun. Banyak peluang bisa dibuka melalui industry kuliner ini,&rdquo; terangnya. Tidak hanya bisa memasak, seorang Chef harus tau higienitas dan kandungan gizi makanan yang disajikan.
