\n\tBeing a versatile individual at work is an obligation possessed by Medical Record and Information professionals. Prapti Handayani, the Head of the Medical Recorders at Bhayangkara Hospital in Central Java, is among those Medical Record professionals.<\/p>\n

\n\tPrapti embarked on her career back in 2000 upon graduating from the Department of Diploma Medical Records and Information at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). At that time, she worked in the Medicine and Health sector at Central Java Police Department. Ultimately, Prapti was asked to work as a medical record staff at Bhayangkara Hospital. \u201cBack then, there was only one medical recorder at that hospital. Thus, I was asked to assist there, and eventually, I was appointed as the Head of Medical Recorders,\u201d she claimed.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis lack of medical record professionals motivated her to be spry to do all the work by herself. In the end, the number of medical record professionals gradually increased, and there are sixteen medical record professionals in the Bhayangkara Hospital today.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to Prapti, medical record professionals play an important role in the medical realm. This field of expertise arguably serves as the mothership of every information required in a hospital. \u201cIf one were to need particular data, they could ask the Information System Management and the medical recorders,\u201d she uttered.<\/p>\n
\n\t <\/p>\n
\n\tPrapti stated that it was essential to learn how to assemble<\/em> and check the filing process of the inpatients, as well as coding<\/em> or converting disease diagnoses from regular words into the form of code to simplify the data analyzing process. Additionally, arranging the medical record result files<\/em> writing reports, setting statistics, and designing forms for patients are also responsibilities a medical record professional must carry.<\/p>\n \n\t <\/p>\n \n\tIn the current pandemic times, medical recorders are pushed to work even harder as they must collect data on COVID-19 patients, which changes dynamically every day. \u201cThe drastic increase of COVID-19 cases pushes us to regularly update the data,\u201d Prapti shared.<\/p>\n \n\t <\/p>\n \n\tAs an alumna of the Diploma Medical Record and Information Study Program at Udinus, Prapti encouraged the students in that department to study diligently regardless of the fact that they would not implement everything they learned on campus in the industry.
