\n\tThe Department of Japanese Literature held a public lecture featuring a team of the Select Hotel Group from Japan. The presence of this team served as a process to recruit both students and alumni of the Japanese Literature Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus).<\/p>\n
\n\tThe lecture took place in the language lab on the third floor of the D building. Furthermore, this public lecture was a way to introduce both students and alumni to certain information. At the lecture, dozens of students and alumni gathered countless experiences from the staff members of the Select Hotel Group. Some of them even asked the staff members about life in Japan and the workspace in the said company.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Head of the Japanese Literature Department, Dr. Bayu Aryanto, S.S., M.Hum., explained that the public lecture would later be followed by an interview process conducted by the team from Select Hotel Group.<\/p>\n
\n\tAccording to him, the company had partnered with the Japanese Literature Department for many years, and before the pandemic, they had planned to recruit several alumni of the department. Additionally, he further hoped for this lecture to give insight concerning work culture in Japan to students. Bayu revealed that the Land of Rising Sun is currently in need of human resources, particularly youths. <\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cBecause of the pandemic, they were forced to cancel the recruitment program, and after the pandemic, they conduct a new recruitment program today. Currently, a total of five alumni of the Japanese Literature Department have embarked on their careers in Japan,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe lecture, themed \u2018Work Interview Strategy to Apply for A Job in Japanese Companies,\u2019 featured Ariska Andrilla Saputri, a team member from the Select Hotel Group. Moreover, Ariska is also an alumna of the Japanese Literature Department, and she has currently worked in the said company for a year.<\/p>\n
\n\tMeanwhile, Ariska also hoped for students and alumni of the Japanese Literature Department to be able to work in Japan. On the same occasion, she also gave detailed information concerning work culture, folk culture, and other information. She further added that to work in Japan, one had to possess a basic understanding of English and the Japanese language mastery.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cThis lecture was conducted to avoid cultural shocks alumni and students will eventually experience upon working there. Moreover, through this lecture, we would also like to motivate them to work in Japan,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n
