The third batch of the Independent Campus program has finally met its end. As the host of this program, Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) held cultural performances presented by students from many different regions in Indonesia. It was hosted on Monday, January 19th, 2024.

The event took place in the auditorium located on the seventh floor of the H building, with 52 exchange students participating in it. On that occasion, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., the Chancellor of Udinus, officially opened the event with his warm greetings. Dr. Ir. Dwi Eko Waluyo, M.M., the Person in Charge of the Student Exchange Program and the Head of the International and Partnership Affairs Bureau, was also present accompanying the chancellor. In addition, there were also vice-chancellors, deans, and faculty members attending the event. 

During his greetings, the chancellor expressed his gratitude to all student exchanges for studying at Udinus for a whole semester. During their studies at Udinus, students were introduced to Javanese cultures. Through this program, he expected students to possess a high sense of cross-cultural understanding.

\u201cWe hosted this event to bid farewell to our beloved student exchanges that have undergone a semester of studies here at Udinus. Through this program, we expect students to hold the understanding of adapting to other cultures,\u201d the chancellor uttered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Dr. Ir. Dwi Eko Waluyo, M.M., also reported that Udinus provided the Nusantara module. Additionally, this program also served as a platform for exchange students to get in touch with the culture of Semarang or Java in general, for that matter.\u00a0

\u201cWe have introduced exchange students to the several concepts of our cultures, including religious places, cuisines, and tourism. The program has run for a semester, and today marks the end of this program. Hopefully, students can implement the knowledge and experience they gathered here in their respective hometowns,\u201d he highlighted.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Combination of Many Cultures<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The cultural performance began with the screening of a video telling the story of those exchange students for a semester. The story consisted of their future plans, introduction to Batik and Gamelan, as well as Sendratari Ramayana play performance.\u00a0

Following that, the cultural event started with the appearance of the Vocal Group consisting of exchange students. They presented several folk songs, including Punggung Jumpa, Kota Baru, Sinanggar Tulo, Si Patokaan, and Maumere<\/i>. Moreover, several dance performances were also featured in the event, including Tor Tor Dance from North Sumatra, Dayak Dance from Kalimantan, and To Mangla Dance from Makassar<\/i>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the exchange students, Ida Ayu Ulan Andira Putri from Universitas Warmadewa, wore traditional clothes, namely, Kebaya and Kamen. On the same occasion, she revealed that the student exchange program was amusing, and all exchange students were even invited to tour several cities in Central Java.\u00a0

\u201cHopefully, this program can be hosted more often. This is because the program is really interesting for students of other regions. For those who are still hesitant about what campus to pick, you might want to put Udinus into consideration,\u201d she encouraged.\u00a0

Meanwhile, Yogi Surya, an exchange student from Universitas Pengaraian, mentioned that Udinus was well-equipped with various facilities. In addition, he also revealed that the Department of Informatics at Udinus was vastly different from that of Universitas Pengaraian.\u00a0

\u201cI have learned many coding <\/em>experiences and knowledge here at Udinus. My fellow students and various faculty members are also friendly and kind-hearted. Hopefully, I can further hone my coding skills and share it with friends in Riau,\u201d he concluded.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
