Becoming successful in the hospitality industry takes lots of things, currently, the Hotel Management Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro<\/a> (Udinus) featured a European chef in a workshop entitled \u2018Food Nation: \u2018Halal Food on Aboard and Making Dessert.\u2019 The workshop took place in the Hotel Management Laboratory on the fourth floor of the G building at Udinus on Monday, May 5th, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was attended by 60 participants consisting of Hotel Management students. The workshop mainly discussed halal food aboard and concluded with a dessert cooking demo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On that occasion, Chef Murtaza Ali Alarakhia emphasized the key to success in the hospitality field and in the F&B sector in general. The key is to take opportunities to leave hometown for other cities or countries to study. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter that, you can go back to your hometown and practice what you have learned at your workplaces. In addition, passion is also the key to pursuing the hospitality industry. Thus, your job will become easier,\u201d the chef emphasized. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, students are encouraged to practice making a durian-flavored cake guided by Chef Murtaza, the owner of Global Halal Solution Limited, London, UK. It is a company focused on giving halal certificates to airports, hotels, and restaurants in various countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On that occasion, the Humanities Faculty also signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Global Halal Solution Ltd, London, UK. The MoU consisted of a partnership between both parties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the opening speech, Dr. Dra. Sri Mulatsih, M.Pd., the Secretary Dean of the Humanities Faculty at Udinus, stated that this workshop served as a way for students to further learn about F&B and hospitality industries. According to her, this off-class study was important for garnering knowledge from different viewpoints. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
