The Accounting Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus<\/a>) provides a platform for students to learn about Public Financing Reports and Checking. The platform was embodied in the form of a public lecture on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public lecture was themed \u2018Reporting and Checking Public Financing Organizational Sector,\u2019 hosted both online and offline on the sixth floor of the I building at Udinus and the Zoom Meeting Platform. It featured a financing expert, Argo Waksito, S.E., MAAC., AK., CSFA, CertDA, ACPA., who was the Head of the Sub-Audit Division at the Audit Board II of Central Java.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On that occasion, Argo Waskito explained the flow of reporting and checking financing of the public sector. During the presentation, he mentioned financing report must present beneficial information to make decisions and reflect the required resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are seven kinds of financing reports checked within the public sector, including the budget realization report, the remaining fund's balance change report, the balance sheet report, the operational report, the cash report, the equity change report, and the record of the financial report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese reports are created to provide a sufficient sense of security, whether the report is presented in a normal way in every material way possible per the valid principle of accounting,\u201d he uttered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, he revealed that finance reporting and checking in the public sector must be reported immediately. Every report must be presented by the time it's due.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Audit Board has the responsibility to check the results of these reports, then it will be reported to the Regional Council. The due date for checking these reports is usually two months after the report is issued by the regional government. This is among the challenges faced by the Audit Board,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For that reason, the public financing sector has started using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to uphold time efficiency. The utilization of digital technology aligns with the opinion of Agung Prajanto, SE., M.Si., Ak, CA, CPA, the second speaker who was also a lecturer and practitioner at Udinus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transformation of the Digital Accounting Ecosystem<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Agung discussed learning materials concerning \u2018Transformation of Works Using Digital Ecosystem.\u2019 The field of accounting will intersect with technology and fall under the influence of big data. The accounting data will be stored in the cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTherefore, an accountant must hold various skills, including data analysis, information technology development, and leadership skills,\u201d he uttered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Retno Indah Hernawati, S.E., M.Si., the Dean of the Economic and Business Faculty at Udinus, hoped for this event to motivate students in learning accounting, as well as to provide insight to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHopefully, students can gather insight into the idea of becoming an accountant in the future. In addition, this public lecture can also provide the idea of how far an accountant can innovate, create, and adapt to the age of technology, without breaking any established rule,\u201d she concluded.
