UDINUS RECTOR ACHIEVE A REWARD FROM BNN CENTER
The celebration of the International Narcotics Day (HANI) in Central Java, on Thursday, 13thof July 2017 was held during the ceremony at the Central Java Governor's Office at Pahlawan street. In front of hundreds participants, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo gave a reward from the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to the Rector of Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom behalf of the commitment and participation in the implementation of Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Distribution of Drugs (P4GN) consistently and continuously.
"Alhamdulillah, Udinus become the only University in Central Java that received the reward from BNN RI in the implementation of P4GN. In 2016 we achieved the same reward, our effort in maintaining that reward once again now are appreciated. Hopefully it will always motivated us to fight against narcotics which will destroy the young generation."said Edi Noersasongko after received the reward.
Udinus consistently conducted P4GN activities in the University, start from routine drug raid program that held every 2-3 months by doing random urine tests on Udinus students and employees. And for new students who will apply themselves to Udinus must include a drug free letter from the authorities. Restrictions on student activities on campus also conducted until 11pm. "To provide the knowledge about the dangers of narcotics, Udinus added it in the curriculum of compulsory course to Udinus’ students." Edi added.
The theme of HANI 2017 was The Active Role and Utilization of All Components and Nation potential In Facing the Emergency of drug abuse to make Healthy Indonesia. Ganjar Pranowo read the letter from the Head of BNN center Komjen Pol Budi Waseso. This ceremony was also attended by Head of BNNP of Central Java Brig Gen Pol Tri Agus Heru Prasetyo and Director of Police Drug Detective Central Java Kombes Pol Kris Halomoan Siregar. According to a survey conducted by BNN in 2014, there were 2.18% of the total population of Indonesia using drugs. In 2016, 1.91% of the 33,000 students of aged 10-30 in Indonesia used drugs. Every day in 2016, 33 people die in vain because of drugs. "Students become an easy target of drug abuse. Therefore, the prevention in teaching and learning environment should be encouraged. What Udinus doing is very good, and hopefully the action against drugs abuse can be a role model for other Universities in Central Java "said Ganjar.
