BNSP SUPPORTS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF UDINUS’ LSP
Thursday, 3rd May, Ir. Bachtiar Siradjuddin, the Commissioner of the Administration Commission of the National Institution for Professions Certification (BNSP) and Wahyu Nugroho Pratomo, S.T visited Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) to review the preparation of Udinus’ Professional Certification Institute (LSP).
As we know, the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) has circulated the regulations about Universities that must provide not only Diploma for the graduates but also the Certificate of Companion Diploma (SKPI). Therefore, Udinus has prepared the establishment of Udinus’ LSP which is planned to be completed the end of this year. "Not only the diploma, the students need a certificate of skills that are endorsed and recognized by the state,” said Udinus’ Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko M.Kom.
Bachtiar explained that LSP certification is measurable and objective. There are three types of LSPs namely LSP I, II and II. The Udinus’ LSP is belongs to the LSP I which is owned by an educational institution with the aim to maintain the competence of graduates. "BNSP facilitates the establishment of LSP in Udinus. The process will be completed in 3 months" explained Bachtiar. The certification for lecturers conducted by assessors from BNSP and then the certified lecturers becomes assessors for graduate certification.
The most important thing that must be prepared is the scheme of recognition of work ability in accordance with industry needs based on the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI). 18 of 22 Study Program are ready for certification. Currently there are about 100 universities in Indonesia that already have LSP; this number is too small compare to the total university in Indonesia, which has about 4000 university. "Hopefully after this visit Udinus is allowed to establish LSP which is recognized by the state" said Edi. (* PR / mey)
