FEB UDINUS HELD A SEMINAR OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT
The moral slump of this country is exist because of the widespread practice of corruption in various sector. The action to prevent corruption need to be done as soon as possible in order to create a good and clean financial management in the government. Faculty of Economics and Business Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) held a Regional Seminar on good and clean local government financial management.
Corruption raises high economic costs. Corruption can be prevented through various ways such as religion, politics, law and good education. As an educational institution, Udinus, through the Faculty of Economics and Business try to reduce the corruption rate in Indonesia by improving the moral value of the students through the seminar which was held on Tuesday 29th of November 2017.
Theresia Weni Astuti, SE., M.Acc., Ak., CPA sub auditorial of the Financial Investigation Agency (BPK) of Central Java came to represent the Head of BPK of Central Java Hery Subowo, SE., MPM., Ak., CIA., CFE in the seminar. Weni gave lecture to hundreds of students on the 3rd floor of E building, Udinus. In front of hundreds of students, Weni conveyed the three principles of Good management in the financial reports. These three principles include Accountability, transparency and community participation. "If all the three principles can be done, then good and clean financial report management will be realized," she explained.
BPK has an important role in realizing good management of financial report in the government, both central and local. To generate a financial report opinion, government agencies must pass through series of financial audits and performance. Therefore, the integrity of Unqualified Opinion (WTP) issued by BPK is guaranteed. "To obtain the WTP from BPK, government agencies must meet several requirements such as the compliance of Government Accounting Standards (SAP) and the compliance of laws" added Weni. BPK audit results might differ from KPK. This was because KPK is authorized to investigate, while BPK is limited to audit only.
