THE ACCREDITATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH STUDY PROGRAM
Since 2 years of its existence, Environmental Health Study Program of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (UDINUS) keep maintaining and improving its quality. On March 22nd, 2018, the Study Program was visited by independent accreditation institute of Higher Education of Health (LAM-PTKes). The purpose of the visitation was to improve the accreditation score of the Study Program.
The visitation was welcomed by UDINUS’ Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko MKom, Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustad MSi, Dean of the Faculty of Health, Dr Guruh Fajar Shidik MCs, and the Head of Environmental Health Study Program, Dr. Drs Slamet Isworo MKes, at Udinus rectorate. "The visitation is to improve the accreditation score of Environmental Health Study Program, so UDINUS can produce qualified graduates in the future faster, "said Guruh, Dean of Faculty of Health.
The two assessors that conducted the visitation were Prof. Dr. dr Alimin Maidin MPH and Dr. Margareta Maria Sintorini MKes. They reviewed the facilities in Environmental Health Study Program, from the wet laboratory, dry laboratory, Professional Certification Institute (LSP), until TVKU. The assessors were also conducted interview to the lecturers, Faculty of Health employees, students, and also stakeholders. "The only problem of Environmental Health Study Program is that it doesn’t have any graduates yet, because it’s new. But from the form, UDINUS Environmental Health Study Program is already good, "said Alimin.
Alimin said that environmental health workers were needed in Indonesia, because Indonesia is an archipelago country where each island has different problems. "Employees with environmental health background will be very much needed, from educational level until field level. UDINUS has targeted the market very precisely, "added Alimin.
The visitation from LAM-PTKes was supported by all UDINUS’ academicians. UDINUS continues to spur accreditation team to get the best score. "We keep improving our self in the time of student admission 2018/2019.
