THE 62ND GRADUATION OF UDINUS
Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (UDINUS) just held the 62nd graduation on Wednesday, April 11th, 2018, at Grand Rama Convention Hall Patra Convention Hotel Semarang. The graduation graduated 504 students from 17 Study Programs.
The 504 students are consist of 43 students of Computer Master Degree Program, 7 students of Management Master Degree Program, 161 students of Computer Bachelor Degree Program, 35 students of Design Bachelor Degree Program, 4 students of Communication Bachelor Degree Program, 73 students of Management Bachelor Degree Program, 88 students of Accounting Bachelor Degree Program, 35 students of Engineering Bachelor Degree Program, 19 students of literature Bachelor Degree Program, 18 students of Public Health Bachelor Degree Program, and 21 Expert Madya .
Since 2001 STIMIK Dian Nuswantoro has officially changed into University, and now UDINUS has graduated 28,742 graduates that consist of 9,073 Associates, 18,065 Bachelors and 1,604 Magister. Currently, the number universities in Indonesia both public and private Universities is 4,629 Universities, and UDINUS is one of the universities that accredited A.
As a university that accredited A, UDINUS improves its quality rapidly, it can be seen from the incision of various Study Programs that accredited A such as Bachelor Degree Program of Informatics Engineering, Bachelor Degree Program of Visual Communication Design, Bachelor Degree Program of Information System, Bachelor Degree Program of Accounting, Bachelor Degree Program of English Literature, Bachelor Degree Program of Japanese Literature, Bachelor Degree Program of Management and also Certificate Degree of Medical Record and Health information.
UDINUS’ Rector, Prof.Dr.Ir Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom said that the concept of establishing businesses using technology, as it is done by Gojek, Online Stores and Madhang.Id became a promising job. According to him the spirit of entrepreneurship should be taught to the students since they werea freshmen so that in the future, they would be able to start startup businesses and create jobs for people.
"Start-up business was designated to handle huge, the huge market that handle millions of people around the world. With the existence of technology, millions of people around the world can be reach by the internet, "he said.
Edi added that UDINUS’ graduates should do something such as meaningful empty concept by connecting something digitally. "The essence of the meaningful empty concept is connecting. Like Facebook, Gojek, and Bukalapak, they both apply the concept of connecting from human to human and also customer to driver and buyer. UDINUS’ graduates must be able to apply the concept, "he added
Edi also said that in 2018, UDINUS get the permission to open Doctoral Program of Computer Science through the letter from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Number 33 / KPT / I / 2018. "Because of the letter, UDINUS is the first and the only university in Central Java that granted a license to open Doctoral Program of Computer Science," he said.
From 504 graduates, there are seven students who deserve cumlaude title. The seven graduates are Andy Arief Setiawan from the Master Degree Program of Informatics Engineering, with 3.85 GPA, Leonardus Irfan Bayu from Bachelor Degree Program of Informatics Engineering with 3.92 GPA, Fania Sofiyani from Bachelor Degree Program of Information Systems with GPA of 3.71. Yuni Purnamasari from Bachelor Degree Program of Management with 3.85 GPA, Idha Pertiwi Suharto from Bachelor Degree Program of Accounting with 3.86 GPA. Zahra Rahmi Fatmawati from Bachelor Degree Program of English Literature with 3.77 GPA and the last is Debby Rosiana Winoto from Bachelor Degree Program of Japanese Literary with 3,84 GPA.
On the 62nd graduation, there was also ITB Rector, Hermawan Kresno Dipojono MSEE, Ph.D who delivered scientific oration about the lack of ambition of Indonesian young generation in reaching their dreams. "Hopefully UDINUS graduates can apply the principles of hard work life, smart work, insightful work, diligence work, and should be based on quality, integrity, and sincerity work," Hermawan hoped.
The event was also attended by Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the first born son of Indonesian President, Joko Widodo. He encourage UDINUS’ graduates to continue to develop their own network and stay humble. "Madhang.id, a startup business made by UDINUS’ students has steal investor’s interest even till Singapore. Hopefully this becomes a virus to other students to continue to create new applications and startups more global, "said Gibran.
The Head of UDINUS’ Public Relation, Agus Triyono, S.Sos, M.Si hoped that the graduates would be able to apply their knowledge to build Central Java and even Indonesia to be better. "We want the students to be able to make innovations from all knowledges in UDINUS, such as examples making startup or other things in order to improve Indonesia in the future.
