Central Java archives and library service just granted UDINUS’ Librarian, Aan Prabowo, S.Hum as the 2nd runner up of outstanding librarian of Central Java. Aan hoped that the achievement could change the image of Librarian in the society. “I was pessimist because there were many universities and schools that joined the competition, but then I was so happy when they announced my name as one of the winners. This whole time, librarians is only considered as a book keeper, but actually, librarians have an important role in providing information and become a facilitator for students and the community, "he said.
Aan also said that the reading interest of students and society is increasing compared to the previous years. According to him, it is because the validity of data in Library is more accurate than the data from the Internet. In order to support the incensement of reading interest, UDINUS’ library subscribes electronic journals and also Turnitin website. "The Internet is not a threat, but a challenge for libraries in this modern era. The collaboration between technology and library can help people avoid fake data and journals that are widely circulated, “he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of UDINUS’ Public Relation, Agus Triyono M.Si mentioned that UDINUS would always provide various useful books to improve knowledge and also for thesis. "Library will always be needed even though the technology keep growing fast, the library remains a place to find information. It is because the data owned by the library is valid, "he concluded.
