UDINUS’ CHOIR WINS 3 MEDALS IN INTERNATIONAL LEVEL
Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (UDINUS) successfully won 3 medals at International Choir Competition in Taipei. 33 choir students of ‘Gita Dian Nuswa’ won 1 gold medal on ethnic category, and 2 silver medals on youth and best performance of Taiwan song from non-Taiwan group category. The competition was held on July 30th – August 3rd, 2018.
International Choir Competition was not a new thing for choir students of ‘Gita Dian Nuswa’. It was the 4th times for ‘Gita Dian Nuswa’ Choir Group to compete at International level. The Choir Group have practiced hard to achieve those achievements. The students practiced daily from afternoon until night to hone their vocal and teamwork to make Indonesia proud.
"Boredom, nervousness and lack of confidence are normal, especially when 60% of the personnel are new students, so it is the first time for some of the students to compete in International level. Moreover, the competition is held in Taipei. We are trying to improve the teamwork which is the main key for the choir by hangout together during the break of international competition preparation”, said Mauruz Reza, the head of Gita Dian Nuswa Choir. He also added that he did not consider the same opponents from the previous international competitions as an eternal rivals, but as a motivation to improve the skill to be better.
Meanwhile, The Head of UDINSU’ Public Relation, Agus Triyono, S.Sos, Msi said that he was very happy with ‘Gita Dian Nuswa’ Choir’s achievements. He said that this achievements must be followed by another unit of student activity in UDINUS.
