THE COMBINATION OF 4 CULTURES IN CROSS CULTURAL PARTY
Universitas Dian Nuswantoro through Faculty of Humanity combined 4 different cultures in Cross Cultural Party event. The event was held on Saturday, March 24th, 2018 on the parking lot of G building. It combined Javanese, Korea, Japan, and also west cultures.
The Governor of Student Executive Board (BEM) of Faculty of Humanity, Dwi Anugrah mentioned on Monday, March 26th, 2018 that “The Korean culture was represented by a guest star called Chile Bomb, and for The Javanese culture was represented by E-Gamelanku team. Public's enthusiasm towards this event was quite good,". He added that the event was the second event that Faculty of Humanity held in 2018. Compared to the last year event, there were some differences where this year, the committee focused on Korean culture that has a lot of enthusiasts.
There were 26 food and beverage stands as well as several competitions such as dance cover and singing competitions. Dwi Anugrah hoped that this event could be held again next year with more participants because the event can be a learning ground for students to recognize the culture around the world. “People’s enthusiasm towards Korean culture was very good, and the performance of E-Gamelanku enliven the event. We have achieved the target of 800 participants and we expect more next year. He concluded.
Meanwhile, the head of UDINUS’ Public relation, Agus Triyono, MSi said that UDINUS supported every activity held by student organizations. According to him, Cross Cultural Party became UDINUS' way in helping introduce Indonesian culture as well as the culture around the world to people in Semarang or event Central Java. “We want people to take the benefit of this event such as understanding the culture that young people like in this era,” he concluded.
