Universitas Dian Nuswantoro through Japanese Student Association "Hikari" just held an annual event of Japanese cultural festival or commonly called "Bunkasai" for two days, May 5th-6th, 2018, at the parking lot of G building, Imam Bonjol street No. 207.
"We encourage students in organizing Bunkasai every year. Alhamdulillah, 2018 is the 11th for Bunkasai. The enthusiasm is also amazing from year to year, "said Tri Mulyani Wahyuningsih, SS, M.Hum as the Chairman of UDINUS’ Japanese literature Study Program.
The theme of Bunkasai 2018 is Owaranai Haru. Owaranai means unchanged, and Haru means spring. "In short in this Bunkasai we want to bring the atmosphere of the beauty of spring that does not change that will always be exist, greeted, and remembered, "added Tri Mulyani.
There were a lot of competitions in this event such as band competition, cosplay, karaoke, dance cover, Soranbushi, Tamiya, and also drawing manga competition. Besides competitions, there were also food stands that sell Japanese food and also Japanese knick-knacks that spoiled Japanese culture lovers. Cosplay competition is always become the main attraction of this event. The cosplayers are not only came from Semarang but also from various regions in Central Java. "I wear my favorite costume Rumia Tingel from the anime of Rokudenashi. I also participate in the cosplay community, because I love Japanese culture for a long time, "said Arfina Shufia from Kudus.
There was also Taiko that perform drumming performance. In Japan, Taiko is held to encourage, organize and instruct troops. The event was closed with a fireworks party called Hanabi.
