Chess players from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) successfully prove their magnificent skills by accomplishing two different titles at two other national events. Two of these students managed to be Grand Champions of both the Dies Natalies of UIN Syaifuddin and the National Chess Competition at UMP. 
 
At the Dies Natalies of UIN Syaifuddin, the Chess Community at Udinus was able to get 3 gold medals and a silver medal. At roughly the same time, the community also secured the grand champion title and second place at the national chess competition at UMP.  
 
Three medals gathered at the Dies Natalies of UIN Syaifuddin were the results of dedication shown by Surya Wahyu Putra (a Management Student) in the Men’s Single Fast Chess Category, Ahmad Riziq (a Management Student) in the Men’s Single Blitz Chess Category, and Evi Yuliana (an English Student) in the Women’s Single Fast Chess Category.
 
At the same event, Mustofa Iqbal (a management student) garnered a silver medal in the men’s single fast chess category. For additional information, the Dies Natalies of UIN was participated by 48 chess players from various regions.
 
As for the National Chess Competition at UMP, Evi Yuliana also secured second place in the Women’s Chess Category. At the same event, Zacky Dhiaulhaq managed to win first place in the Men’s Chess Category.
 
 
Ahmad Riziq, a gold medallist, shared his experience of outclassing a player from East Java with the FIDE Master (FM) title. Prior to participating in the competition, Ahmad had prepared to his fullest extent and successfully secured first place. With four wins and a draw, Ahmad earned an accumulated point of 4.5.
 
“It is truly a priceless experience for me to win against a player from the National Training Center. From this triumph, we are also motivated to garner many more accomplishments,” he said.
 
Evi Yuliana, who currently holds the title of Women’s National Master, expressed her joy for earning the gold medal and securing second place for Udinus. Through her participation in these chess events, her skills as a chess player will automatically see an improvement. 
 
“Hopefully, our efforts and dedication can open an opportunity for Udinus to be more acclaimed on both the national and international levels. Not only that, through these accomplishments, we would also like to motivate other athletes to also keep yearning for attainments,” she added.
 
Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs, expressed her pride in the accomplishments attained by the chess community on the national level. Udinus will always give its successful students stimuli in the form of scholarships for their efforts in making a name for the campus both academically and non-academically on the national and international levels.
