“Cooking is arguably one of my favorite hobbies. Initially, I only cooked for loved ones, but now, my hobbies turned into a promising job,” Anggita Cahyaningtyas Putri Pramesty, a student from the Accounting Study Program at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), uttered.
Gadis yang akrab disapa Gita itu saat ini memiliki usaha di bidang kuliner bernama ‘Dapur Milleniall’. Perjalanannya untuk buka usaha tersebut dimulai sejak tahun 2020 ketika memberanikan dirinya untuk menerima pesanan makanan.
“It took a month for me to self-improve and refine the recipe so the food could convey or possess a unique taste. My friends and family also supported me in founding this business,” she revealed.
She chose the name ‘Dapur Milleniall’ as the system and packaging went along with the current trends. Even though not all foods on the menu were modern, several of them were modified and trending at the moment trends. .
" 'Dapur Mileniall’ offered several foods on the menu including, tomyam, instant seafood, ‘Risol Geprek’, cheese stick, mango salad, daifuki mochi, and roll cake, so both main dishes and snacks ,” she revealed.
Gita, born in Pati on December 3rd, 1999, revealed that her turnover ranged from Rp. 2.500.000,00 to Rp. 3.500.000,00 within a month. She added that the turnover could go even beyond that, especially in Ramadhan 1444H where everyone bought food to break their fasting. Currently, Gita uses pre-orders as a marketing system utilizing Instagram as a marketing media with the @dapurmilleniall_ account.
“The target market for these products could be anyone, for that reason, I usually advertise my products with the help of many influencers’ endorsements and reviewers in Semarang,” Gita uttered.
In running a business, things just could not run always smoothly, the same also happened to Gita. “The problem with my business is the workforce as I still have to do many things on my own,” she revealed.
Gita shared that running the ‘Dapur Milleniall’ business was like a dream came true as her passion lay in cooking. She encouraged her fellow students not to be hesitant in seeking their potential and outside opportunities. By maximizing your potential, you could run your very own business.
“Furthermore, you need to be daring in running a business as your business could open a possibility to reduce the unemployment rate,” she said.
Despite having owned a culinary business, Gita still had to continue her study. She always managed her school and work time so that both of them could run well. “I usually attend school from Monday to Thursday, while I work on Saturday and Sunday,” Gita explained.
She used the knowledge that she had acquired at Udinus to form a business. Additionally, she was also a part of a student organization called ‘The Economics Business Faculty’s Student Council (BEM FEB) from 2018 to 2021 with the intention to gain relations. “During my time as a member of the student council, relations were and still are essential, so to all my fellow students, do not be afraid or hesitant to join a student organization as it may expand your business scope,” concluded the owner of @gitatyass_ Instagram account.
