All Muslims throughout the globe have been looking forward to the holy month of Ramadan to do various good deeds, including fasting, praying, and reciting the Qur’an in congregation. Aiming to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, the whole academic community at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) collectively agreed to routinely recite the Qur’an through online platforms.
The Qur’an recital was directly coordinated by the Islamic Activist Center (MAC). It is normally conducted on Mondays and Thursdays, and this year, the Online Recitation started from the 287th round to the 293rd round at the end of April.
The Head of the Islamic Activist Center at Udinus, Edy Mulyanto, S.Si., M.Kom., explained that the recital encompassed many different sections in the Qur’an and preaching. Every faculty and division had to fill their own part in the recital with Ad-Dzuha to Al-Lahab being the main surah to be recited.
“Through this positive activity, hopefully, we could walk in the righteous path, tie our bonds, and avoid prejudices,” he hoped.
The Head of the Dian Nuswantoro Foundation, Tri Rustanti Noersasongko, S.E., M.M., and the Chancellor of Udinus, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., were also present to attend the Qur’an recitation.
On every occasion, the chancellor always gives his warm greetings before they begin the recitation. According to the chancellor, reciting the Qur’an was one of those good deeds every Muslim must carry out in the holy month of Ramadan. Additionally, he also encourages all the faculty members to routinely recite the Qur’an and improve their skills in reciting.
“In this holy month of Ramadan, we would like to utilize this opportunity to do good deeds. Hopefully, through this routine recitation, the congregation could love the Qur’an even more, as reciting could help our mind to be calm and develop our dignity,” the chancellor concluded.
