The 78th graduating candidates of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) were prepared to face the upcoming reality of the work field. Emphasizing the theme of ‘Born to be A Winner’, the event provided various ways of success to build a career and business.
Around 129 students of Udinus participated in the online and offline event on the third floor of the E Building Udinus, on Monday, August 21st, 2023. Engaging two speakers from academics and practitioners to share their knowledge. Namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., the chancellor of Udinus, and Dico M Ganinduto, B. Sc., the regent of Kendal.
On that occasion, Udinus’ chancellor shared his career experience starting from becoming the director of a course at the capital city until he managed to build his own course. In his career journey, Prof. Edi openly shared that he needed the courage to initiate a business and the determination to persistently strive for improvement. This journey began with a course and led him to Udinus, a prestigious institution with thousands of students.
“To all graduating candidates, you have to believe in yourself that the knowledge you have obtained at Udinus can be used to seek opportunities and help you to determine whether it is beneficial or harmful. With knowledge, you can rightfully decide if you should start a business or pursue your career,” explained Prof. Edi.
The event also featured a speech by Heri Pamungkas, S.S., M.I.Kom., the head of Udinus’ Alumni Association, followed by Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., the III vice-chancellor. The participants were very enthusiastic, they were asking a lot of questions.
The following speaker, Dico M. Ganinduto, B.Sc., the regent of Kendal, shared his experience in such a talk show fashion, which aligned with the event's theme of ‘Born to be A Winner’. To attain these goals, he stressed the importance of facing various forms of failure. Addressing the graduating students, he emphasized that failure is a normal thing in the industrial sector. The regent of Kendal also motivated the participants to learn from their failures and avoid repeating the same mistakes.
