The Faculty of Humanities (FIB) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) hosted a sharing-alumni event on the department session of Dinus Inside Day 2. The event took place on the third floor of the G building at Udinus, on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023.

The event featured three alumni representing three different study programs at the humanities department, such as Osel Nur, an alumna of the English Language Program.

The alumna who graduated in 2013, is currently working as a member of the Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) of Jepara. She chose Udinus because of its fame in the public. During her college years, the lecturers in the Humanities department were very supportive of their students.

“The lecturers at FIB are not only fun but also incredibly supportive, guiding their students from the first day to graduation. The lecturers are also determined to motivate students all the time to excel in various sectors,” stated Osel.

The session was followed by Milla Dewi Hartono, S.S., an alumna of the Japanese Literature Program, who’s currently undertaking a career path in Japanese Narita Airport. The most interesting part of her story was, that her motivation to pursue a career abroad came when she was participating in a sharing-alumni session of Dinus Inside at that time. Milla also gave some tips for new students who wish to continue their career path in foreign countries, particularly Japan.

“Try to learn more through books and seek an internship program in Japan or your desired country. It is very easy to get this information due to numerous international partnerships that have been done by Udinus,” explained Milla.

She revealed that there was a test she needed to take, which was JLPT N3, and she was able to get a perfect 100% score. Remembering that Udinus was appointed to host the JLPT at Central Java Region on several occasions. “Thence, I was qualified to undertake an internship program in Japan. When I graduated, I got the offer to work at Narita International Airport in Japan,” continued Milla.

The session was closed with the last material by the third speaker, Athariq Ghazilay, S.Tr., an alumnus of the Applied Hotel Management Program, 2019 cohort. He shared his fun experience during his college year at Udinus due to its supportive infrastructures to support his career.

“While I was a student at Udinus, the bar and kitchen facilities were extensive. They provided me with significant support when I represented Udinus in competitions. I was highly satisfied with the services provided on campus,” said Athariq Ghazilay known as Ale. (WTDN/Yasinta. Photo: WTDN)
