Committed to giving a platform for the evolution and dynamics between the realm of education and research globally, Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) hosted the International Seminar and Workshop of Public Health Action (Iswopha). This year, the event used ‘Ensure Healthy Life Supported by Sustainable Energy, Environment, and Health Literacy in The Era of Society 5.0’ as its theme.
Hosted in the auditorium located on the third floor of the E building and the Zoom meeting platform, the 2023 Iswopha organized by the Health Science Faculty at Udinus featured experts from many different countries. The event started with an event report with Sri Handayani S.Km, M.Kes, the Head Organizer of Iswopha, as the speaker. However, the 2023 Iswopha officially saw its beginning after a speech done by Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustad, the Vice Chancellor I of Academic Affairs.
During her report, Dr. Nurjanah, M.Kes., expressed her astounding pleasure since the seminar went on with excitement and was participated by dozens of researchers, as well as speakers with years of experience under their belt.
“Iswopha aims to take part in resolving problems and giving contributions in the Health Field in Indonesia,” she reported.
She also added that in her report, the submitted papers mainly focused on Sanitation, Entomology, Wastewater Processing and Management, as well as other fields. At the 2023 Iswopha, 73 papers passed the selection process and would be presented. As for the participants, there were 1123 of them at the location, while another 800 participated in Iswopha through Zoom meetings.
“The papers will later be published on Scopus and other journals,” Dr. Nurjanah added.
Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustad, M.Si., expected this event to be regularly hosted as it could serve as a platform for researchers to develop their ideas.
“We will always do our best to host many more events identical to Iswopha so the publication percentage on campus can see its increase,” he hoped.
The 2023 Iswopha was organized from September 25 to 26, 2023 and there were two plenary sessions featuring seven speakers. Those seven speakers were Prof. Shabbir H. Gheewala (from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand.), Prof. Angela M. Leung (the President of Asia Health Literacy Association from Hong Kong Polytechnic University.), Prof. Amanda Reichelt-Brushett (from Southern Cross University, Australia.), and Dr. Kristine Sorensen (the President of International Health Literacy Association and the Founder of Global Health Literacy Academy, Denmark.)
Three other speakers were Sugianto Tandio, M.Sc., (the Chief Innovation Officer and Co-founder of Greenhope, Indonesia.), dr. Lily Kresnowati, M.Kes (the Director of Health Service, BPJS Indonesia.), and Dr. dr. Anung Sugihantono, M.Kes (the Chairman of PPPKMI Central Java, Indonesia.) (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
