Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) receives 52 students across Indonesia through the ‘Independent Student Exchange Program’ known as PMM. All students were acknowledged in a welcoming event held on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023.

The event that took place in the auditorium on the 7th floor of the H building at Udinus was attended by the Chancellor of Udinus, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom. During his speech, Prof. Edi embraced all students who were involved with the student exchange program. In addition, he provided an introduction to Udinus, highlighting various innovations by both lecturers and students, as well as the campus culture.

“With the discussion about Udinus, I am hoping that all exchange students can get to know more about our campus. By implementing CCC or conduct, copy, and customize, students may implement positive activities. Hopefully, these pieces of information can be beneficial for all,” said Prof. Edi.

On the other hand, Dr. Ir. Dwi Eko Waluyo, M.M as the Head of the Bureau of Cooperation and International Affairs reported that 52 exchange students were from different regions outside Java Island. Starting from Aceh, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, and more.

Dr. Dwi stated, “Alhamdulillah, currently Udinus receives double the amount of student exchange compared to previous year.”

He explained that all students registered in the program would undertake courses with a total of 16 credit semesters. Furthermore, there are also 4 additional credits which later would be inputted into the ‘Nusantara’ Module for the purpose of enrichment, and development, as well as the enhancement of students’ patriotism toward Indonesian diversity.

“Through this module, students will be introduced to a variety of cultures in Indonesia. Our expectation is that students can strengthen their experience while learning at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) and obtain valuable moments in their lives,” explained Dr. Dwi.

15 student organizations also made an appearance at the event to welcome all student exchange. As the President of the Student Executive Board (BEM KM), Muhammad Khoirul Anam represented the whole student at Udinus. “I’m hoping that there will be a lot of positive interaction whilst upholding unity, tolerance, connection, and positive interaction between students.

During the post-event interview, Ide Ayu Ulan admitted that she undertook the Independence Student Exchange Program due to her eagerness to challenge herself, gain experience outside of her hometown Bali, and step out of her comfort zone.

“The reason why I decided to choose Udinus is because of its proper facilities. I put high expectations toward this program to sustain more in the future,” commented Ide Ayu, a student from the University of Warmadewa Bali.

The event also featured the performance by Gita Dian Nuswa, a student choral group and DFU or Dance Group from Udinus. All 52 students from 30 different colleges were entertained by the exceptional performance of the student units.
