Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) triumphantly gained six trophies at the National Global Public Health and Climate Competition. Those accomplishments were claimed by Public Health students not long ago.
The event, organized by Universitas Airlangga, was divided into various categories, including English Speech, Essay, Photography, Infographics, Health Jingle, Technology Usage, Poetry Musicalization, and Short Videos.
Here are several accomplishments attained by students of Udinus, namely the first and second place in the health jingle category was garnered by Magumi Avrora Iftita and Angeline Dayatri Wulan Datu, respectively. As for the photography category, Ahmad Meisafrozi successfully took first and second place, and Tusila Novita Fajari managed to grasp the favorite contender title. At the same time, the second place in the English Speech category was victoried by Nadia Rizky Fadillah.
Ahmad Meisofrozi, who managed to claim two entirely different trophies, explained that the theme of the event was ‘Global Public Health and Climate: Optimize Preventive and Promotive Efforts in Supporting SDGs.’ This specific theme was chosen in an attempt to optimize the steps or methods in preventing health problems and the current climate changes that stole the public spotlight. Through this very theme, Ahmad emerged as a champion by giving his best effort to his works.
“It is truly the best thing I could ever dream of to achieve not one but two accomplishments at once. This triumph does not mark the end of my journey, as I will continue to strive for more and motivate my fellow students to do the same,” he uttered.
It is also important to note that the event initiated by Universitas Airlangga was attended by more than 325 participants. Not only did they come from academic backgrounds, but some of them also came from a broader range of institutions from various regions in Indonesia, including East Java, Central Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Bali Island.
Nor Amalia Muthoharoh S.KM., M.Kes., a faculty member, expressed her utmost pride for the accomplishments gained by her students. According to her, participating in such competition could hone their competitive mentality, which might carry to the students’ careers in the industry.
“We will always give our students the best support to our capacity by providing them platforms to showcase their talents and be accomplished. On this occasion, students could also learn many aspects of their fields through national seminars regarding climate change, nutritional problems residing within our local community, an attempt to sanitize our environments, and climate information from the government climatology agency,” she concluded.
