THROUGH THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS, THE WOMEN’S AND MEN’S VOLLEYBALL TEAMS OF UDINUS SUCCESSFULLY GATHERED FAME

Having made a name for themselves at the national level, two volleyball teams from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) emerged as victors in the 2023 Sebelas Maret Student Volleyball League, which was hosted last October in the Sports Building at UNS.

The league was participated by 36 college teams from various cities in Indonesia, including Semarang, Surabaya, and Bandung. At the league, Udinus sent two teams, and both of them successfully emerged as victors. The men’s team successfully won third place, and the women’s team triumphantly claimed fourth place. 

The chief of the Volleyball Unit at Udinus and the Captain of the Women’s team, Ratih Eliza Tanjung claimed to be proud of her team’s accomplishments. Additionally, she also stated that her team only prepared for three weeks. During those three weeks, the teams were training as efficiently as possible. 

“Every party is credited to our success such as staff, team managers, and coaches. This is a good step for us to make an entry at the national level,” he revealed.

The Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, Dr. Rindra Yusianto S. Kom., M.T., claimed that he was proud of the accomplishments achieved by the Volleyball Unit. He hoped that this triumph could serve as a stepping stone to motivate them to achieve even greater success by optimizing their training.

“I hereby congratulate the Volleyball Unit for their triumphant attainment. This is another symbol of pride for our campus, as our volleyball athletes could showcase their glory in various competitions or leagues. Hopefully, our athletes could always give their best,” he closed.

It is important to note that the Sebelas Maret Student Volleyball League is one of the most prestigious college volleyball leagues since 2017. The participating teams competed for a rolling trophy bestowed by the Ministry of Education and a trophy from the Chancellor of UNS. The league was organized from October 23 to 27, 2023.

At the league, the women’s team was mainly reinforced by eleven students, including Gabriella Regina Tita M (a Communication Science Student), Ulhusna Salindhita Rafaneli and Eka Wulan Priharum (Management Students), Andira Ayuningtyas (an English Student), Ratih Eliza Tanjung and Eva Yanuar Putri (Public Health Students), Anju Nalendra (a Medical Record Student), Khalida Maritza Tanaya and Dhiza Zalfarona (Industrial Engineering Students), as well as Anisa Maya Syahputri and Laila Hidayati Dos Santos (Biomedical Engineering Students).

As for the men’s team, it consisted of fourteen players, including Bagas Dwi Prasetya and Jenny Setyo Nugroho (Informatics Students), Wisnu Murti Prabandaru, Juandita Dharmattama, Louis Taparel Ardian Tobias, Sapta Rafi Sanjaya, Muhammad Adnan Al’ihza, Dimas Setiawan, and Muchammad Mikail Figo (Communication Science Students), Tegar Aji Aimar, Amrizal Eka Pradipta, Rangga Regananda, M.
