Semarang – Numerous medical students at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) received a set of insights from dr. Mariatul Fadilah, MARS., Ph.D., Sp.KKLP concerning medical communication. This public lecture was important for students who would become professional doctors one day.
The event was held in the conference room located on the first floor of the H building, with Dr. dr. Hendriani Selina, SpA(K)., MARS—the Dean of the Medical Faculty at Udinus—opening the whole procession. The public lecture employed the theme of ‘Communication in Specific Instances,’ and it explained in great detail of how to become an ethical doctor with excellent communication skills.
Dr. dr. Hendriani Selina, SpA(K)., MARS., explained that the public lecture featuring dr. Mariatul Fadilah was a step to develop the latent creativity within students, particularly when it comes to communication. “There will be many positive things if we communicate well with patients. One of those things is patients will be satisfied with our services. For this reason, students need to learn the art of medical communication,” Dr. dr. Hendriani Selina explained.
Meanwhile, dr. Mariatul Fadilah, MARS., Ph.D., Sp.KKLP., emphasized the importance of communication during medical practices. “Effective communication between doctors will also lead to the patients being satisfied and trusting us,” she uttered.
This public lecture is expected to gain awareness from medical students at Udinus concerning the importance of communication skills during medical practices. This will allow them to not only be competent medically, but also when it comes to communication as well. On that occasion, students were seen paying attention to a lecture delivered by the speaker.
As the newest faculty at Udinus, the Medicine Faculty has two departments under its possession, including Medical Professional Education and Undergraduate Medical. The B Accreditation was in accordance with the decree no. 0034/LAM-PTKes/Akr.PB/Sar/I/2024 for the Medical Professional Education Department. As for the Undergraduate Medical Department, the accreditation was listed in decree no. 0035/LAM-PTKes/Akr.PB/Pro/I/2024.
These accreditations show that the Medical Faculty housed several remarkable aspects, including instructors, facilities, and partnerships with various hospitals. Those hospitals are the Bhayangkara Hospital, the Gunawan Mangunkusumo Hospital, the Tugurejo Hospital Semarang, and the Diponegoro National Hospital.
