Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) once again earned a glorious feat in the sector of research. One of the research projects conducted by Udinus entitled ‘Natural Materials Development in Indonesia as a Corrosion Green Inhibitor based on Material Computation,’ successfully earned an accomplishment. The accomplishment was earned at a prestigious event, namely, the Research and Innovations to Accomplish Indonesian Advancement (RIIM) Award initiated by the National Innovation and Research Agency (BRIN).

The award was directly received by Prof/ Dr. Supriadi Rustad, M.Si., the Vice Chancellor I of Academic Affairs at Udinus, alongside other researchers at Udinus. These researchers were Dr. T. Sutojo, M.Kom., Dr. Muhamad Akrom, M.Si., and Dr. Wahyu Aji Eko Prabowo.

On that occasion, Dr. Muljono, M.Kom., the Head of the Research Institution and Community Service at Udinus, was also present. The award was presented by BRIN on the third floor of the Sumitro Djojohadikusumo Auditorium in the B.J. Habibie Building, M.H. Thamrin St. No. 8, Central Jakarta.

Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustad, M.Si. expressed his pride for the accomplishment earned by the researchers from Udinus. He revealed that this award placed Udinus to be the only private university to receive the 2024 BRIN RIIM Award. The award was earned after outclassing thousands of other papers proposed by various universities in Indonesia.

“The award was a form of appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our researchers in providing novelty within the Science and Technology sector,” Prof. Supriadi Rustad revealed.

The RIIM Award is given to a research team with certain accomplishments in developing research-based innovations. The research would be funded by the National Innovation and Research Agency (BRIN) through the Research and Innovation Directorate.

Laksana Tri Handoko, the Head of the BRIN, explained that the RIIM Award was provided as a form of support from the government to the researchers who have given significant contributions to science. During the press release, he stated that this year’s RIIM Award came in three categories, including the RIIM Competition, the RIIM Expedition, and the RIIM Start-Up.

“To improve the quality and quantity of outputs, the National Innovation and Research Agency (BRIN) hosted the RIIM Award as a form of support from the government to the RIIM Awardees with good work performance,” Handoko uttered.

Udinus triumphantly achieved an award in the RIIM Competition category that was given to the team with novelty. This accomplishment proves that Udinus is able to compete with other universities in the research sector. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Dok. BRIN)
