The Engineering Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) received a visit from 96 students at the Karangturi High School of Semarang. The visitation served as a way to introduce departments and various facilities at the Engineering Faculty to high school students.
At the visitation conducted on Monday, January 13, 2025, students were introduced to nine featured labs within the Engineering Faculty at Udinus. These labs were the Simulation Lab, the Renewable Energy Lab, the Robotics and Intelligent Automation Lab, the Physics Lab, the Instrumentation and Control Lab, and the Basic Lab.
Furthermore, there was also the Product Design Lab, the Manufacturing System and Production Lab, and the Work System Design and Ergonomics Lab. These facilities are among the most well-equipped ones at Udinus, with the capability of providing students with practice-based learning.
Ir. Heru Agus Santoso, Ph.D., IPM., ASEA Eng., the Dean of the Engineering Faculty at Udinus, emphasized that it was important for the young generation to utilize the immense opportunity in the technological sector. As a way to bring this opportunity to students, the Engineering Faculty is committed to shaping the current generation into the golden generation with high competence in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0.
“With our well-equipped labs and adaptive curricula, our students are expected to be innovators that led this nation to positive changes,” Heru uttered.
In addition to visiting various labs, students were also given some practical demonstrations of campus life. Erlia Danieryanto, M.Pd., a teacher from the Karangturi High School, revealed that by seeing the labs directly, they were able to grasp the idea of studying engineering on campus.
“Hopefully, this visitation can motivate our students to further continue their studies. We hope that they will hold a broader view concerning study programs and campuses per their interest,” Erlia revealed.
