As the demands of healthcare professionals excelling in technology begin to rise, Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) recently established the Diploma Health Information (HIM) Department. This new department will be a part of the Health Science Faculty at Udinus. The HIM Department marked the 35th department of study program at Udinus.
Peresmian itu, ditandai dengan turunnya Surat Keputusan (SK) dari Menteri Pendidikan Tinggi, Sains dan Teknologi Nomor 165/A/O/2024. SK tersebut secara resmi diserahkan oleh Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi (LLDikti) Wilayah VI Jawa Tengah kepada Udinus pada Selasa,(14/01/2025).

At the decree handover, taking place in the conference room located on the first floor of the G building at Udinus, Dr. Bhimo Widyo Andoko, S.H., M.H., handed the decree to Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom—the Rector of Udinus. Upon receiving the decree, the rector proudly presented it to the Health Science Faculty.
Following the handover session, the rector expressed his utmost gratitude to the government for putting trust in Udinus.
“This morning, we witnessed that Udinus had been trusted to establish the Health Information Management (HIM) Department. We are grateful for the trust the government has put in us,” he uttered.
Prof. Edi also put immense hope on the HIM Department. In addition, the establishment of this department is also expected to fulfill the demands of more healthcare professionals with the competence in integrating technology with the healthcare services.
“Hopefully, with this new department, we will be able to bring positive impacts to the public and the healthcare sector in Indonesia,” he hoped.
During his opening speech, Dr. Bhimo emphasized the importance of opening the HIM Department to further reinforce Udinus in the near future. On top of that, this department will also potentially strengthen other departments at Udinus, particularly within the Health Science Faculty. Dr. Bhimo also highlighted Udinus’ specialty in technology as a head start in maintaining this new department or study program.
Dr. Bhimo revealed that the establishment of the HIM Department at Udinus also served as a pioneer in Central Java, which focuses on this HIM field heavily relying on technology as its basis.
“This study program is uncommon, and it holds a big potential for development. We hope that Udinus can run this study program properly and socialize it to the public,” Dr. Bhimo concluded. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
