Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam and Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU entailed a partnership to strengthen the academic relationship between both institutions. It was signed by the leaders of the respective universities.
On behalf of Udinus, the MoU was signed by the Rector of Udinus, Prof. Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, S.T., M.Kom., M.Kom., who was accompanied by the Head of the Dian Nuswantoro Foundation, Lakshiputri Arnindita, S.Sos., M.M. In addition, other prominent figures at Udinus were also present, including Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustad, M.Si.—the Vice Rector IV of Research, Partnership, and Innovation Affairs at Udinus, as well as Dr. Ir. Dwi Eko Waluyo, M.M., the Head of the Partnership and International Affairs Division at Udinus.

Meanwhile, on behalf of UiTM, the MoU was signed by the Rector, Professor Datuk Ts. Sr. Shahrin bin Shahib, alongside his vice-rectors and deans of every faculty at UiTM, as well as staff members from the Partnership Division. This partnership will last for five years, from 2025 to 2030.
Prof. Pulung emphasized that the commitment held by both parties would come to fruition, particularly in developing the Medicine Faculty. This newest faculty at Udinus will be fully supported by UiTM, which has a reputable credibility.
“With this support, we are certain that our Medicine Faculty will eventually hold international standards, as well as inflict positive benefits on the public through its graduates,” Prof. Pulung explained.
The rector added that international partnerships, in general, were among the most strategic steps to improve the education quality at Udinus so that it can secure its position as a World-Class university. In addition to the Medicine Faculty, the partnership also focuses on research projects and scientific conferences.
“We also facilitate our academicians who want to publish their papers to build a harmonious collaboration between Udinus and UiTM. By conducting such a step, we will be able to develop a positive image for Udinus in the international world,” the rector uttered.
Producing Excellent Medical Professionals
The MoU signing reflected the commitment between both universities to improve their international visibilities and expand their academic network. This was done to further bring positive impacts to the development of science and innovation in various fields.
On a separate occasion, the Rector of UiTM, Prof. Datuk Shahrin, confirmed that UiTM would indeed give Udinus full support to develop its Medicine Faculty. The support itself will be in the form of conferences, symposiums, and brief courses, particularly concerning the development of education and research activities in the medical field.
“With this support, we hope that the Medicine Faculty at Udinus can more rapidly see a development, allowing excellent medical professionals to see the light of day in their careers.
