Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) used the Holy Month of Ramadan as a platform to establish an even deeper sense of kinship among the campus bureaucrats and students. The moment was embodied with an event known as ‘Activist Iftar and Discussion,’ which was initiated by the Student Executive Board of Udinus.

Taking place in the conference room on the third floor of the E building, the agenda was attended by representatives from all student organizations at Udinus. In addition, the Vice Rector III of Student Affairs, the Student Affairs Bureau, and student coordinators from all faculties at Udinus were also present at the iftar and discussion, which was held on March 19, 2025.

Muhammad Annas Shidiqi, the Vice President of the Student Executive Board, mentioned that the event was crucial to kindle the light of kinship among the academic community, as well as to serve as an opportunity for student organizations to have a dialog with the campus bureaucrats. This aligned with the theme, namely, “Establishing Collaboration: Conveying Aspirations and Activist Iftar 2025.”

“This iftar and discussion aimed to refine the bonds between students and campus bureaucrats. This is crucial to understand each other’s perception and find a path most of us can agree on, as well as to avoid miscommunication between activists and the campus bureaucrats,” he explained.

Interactive Dialog and Aspiration

The dialog between activists and the student affairs staff while they waited for the Iftar time. The session ran interactively, with many activists conveying their criticism and suggestions.

The Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs at Udinus, Prof. Dr. Dra. Kusni Ingsih, S.E., M.M., expressed her joy to the Student Executive Board for hosting this event. According to her, this was a perfect tradition for Udinus to preserve the spirit of unity.

“This tradition must not vanish, as this bonding can get all of us closer to each other. Let us kindle this moment to express our aspiration for our beloved campus,” she uttered.

Kusni also reminded the activists to express their aspirations in a presentable way to maintain harmony and security on the campus.

“We have settled the whole student organization affairs, and we should not let it be tarnished. We are committed to supporting all the events hosted by our campus, even so, if the events are related to students. Let us feast this moment for harmony,” she concluded. (Humas Udinus/Ika.
