The Holy Month of Ramadan is indeed a month every Muslim has been looking forward to. For a month in 1446 AH or 2025, Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) will spread goodness to put an emphasis on the event, ‘Ramadan on Campus.’
The event itself is initiated by the Muslim Activity Center at Udinus and involves faculty members and students. The goodness will also be spread to locals of Pendrikan Kidul and other locations in Semarang.
The Chief of the Muslim Activity Center at Udinus, Edy Mulyanto, S.Si., M.Kom., explained that the event included various activities, including Quranic studies, food giveaways for iftar, tarawih prayers, and Qur’an recitation. These activities are routinely done at two different mosques, namely, Baitul Ilmi and Baitul Muttaqin, at Udinus during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
“There are a total of 1,500 portions of food served every day, excluding Sundays. We mainly gave the food to students, faculty members, and the locals, so they don’t have to look for food outside the campus,” he explained.
In addition to the routine agenda, The Muslim Activity Center also initiated several other activities on particular days, including suhoor, Nuzulul Qur’an with local orphanages, and Qur’an recitation.
“Hopefully, various activities we host in the Holy Month of Ramadan can boost our faith and relationship with God, as well as deepen bonds as the academic community,” Edy added.
Students are also helped by these activities, particularly the food giveaway, with a variety of menus each day. They are often seen waiting in queue for the food. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
