Hanif Fachri Widianto, an alumnus of the Undergraduate Management Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), held the principle that education is among the most important assets for a nation to go into the lane of advancement. Hanif’s determination to contribute to improving the education quality in Indonesia motivated him to apply for a position in the Education and Culture Service during the Civil Servant Candidate (CPNS) Selection, and he was appointed in the Batang District Government.

Hanif now works as a secretary in the Human Resource Analyst Department. This positioning aligns with his educational background, namely, the HR Management concentration during his studies at Udinus.

Hanif, who graduated in 2024, explained that there are four different phases in CPNS Selection, including the administrative selection, the basic competence selection, and the field competence selection. After being declared to he passed the administrative selection, Hanif started preparing himself to face the following phases.

“Before the basic competence test, I studied for three whole months by learning from the internet and books. However, it turned out to be insufficient, so I began to properly manage my time and the materials I should learn every day. After I passed the basic competence selection, I studied again for the field competence selection test. I had to memorize several acts and regulations enacted by the government. Again, I had to rely on the time management skills I learned in college,” he revealed.

Tips and Tricks for Passing the Selection

After receiving the announcement that he passed the CPNS selection, Hanif, who was once the Chief of the Student Executive Board of the Economics and Business Faculty at Udinus, expressed his joy and gratefulness. Hanif, who was born in Jambi Province, also gave several tips and tricks to pass the CPNS selection, starting from analyzing dreams and career reality.

“Then, one must manage their time and have the necessary career motivation. Establish connections with people who support your career growth. I myself have done these exact tips, and it turned out that discipline doesn’t bind us; instead, it guides us to our liberation,” he emphasized.

As additional information, Hanif also actively writes content about human resources on his LinkedIn account. Furthermore, Hanif also revealed that his next target is to participate in the initial training with optimism, dedication, and responsibility.
