Scholarships can bring many benefits to one’s life, especially students, particularly for their tuition fees, at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). To provide this information evenly, Udinus hosted a sharing session with Djarum Beasiswa Plus, which was a part of Beswan Semarang.
The sharing session held the theme of ‘Bestalk Udinus,’ with students from six different faculties at Udinus attending it. It took place in the auditorium located on the seventh floor of the H building.
The event was opened by a speech delivered by the Vice Rector III of Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Dra. Kusni Ingsih, M.M. It was also attended by the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau (Bima) at Udinus, Prof. Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., as well as student coordinators from each faculty.
During her opening speech, Prof. Kusni emphasized that scholarships are golden opportunities for students. According to her, it would be unfortunate if students remained uninformed concerning these scholarships, particularly scholarships that had officially tied a partnership with the campus.
“In addition to getting a tuition cut, students can also connect with others. For Djarum Beasiswa Plus specifically, students who get this scholarship will be involved in various programs for a whole year. This opportunity would be unfortunate to ignore,” she explained.
On that occasion, the Djarum Foundation program was explained by an awardee of this scholarship, Alifia Latifa. The program mainly consists of character building, leadership development, nation building, an essay contest, and community empowerment.
“This program is designed so students can train their soft skills to form their character awardee. Djarum Foundation focuses on shaping character awardee . Djarum Foundation focuses on shaping characters, as according to studies, one’s own success comes from 85% character and 15% skills,” she revealed.
Scholarships are not merely funds granted to students to pay tuition. Instead, scholarships entail opportunities for someone to become the best version of themselves.
