A total of 230 activists from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) involved themselves in the Activist Field Study and Community Service. It started with students’ deployment done by the Vice Rector III of Student Affairs at Udinus, Prof. Dr. Dra Kusni Ingsih, M.M.., to the Kandangan local government, accompanied by staff from the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus.
Hosted in Kandangan’s Hall, the community service was attended by invited guests, consisting of the village head from nine villages in Kandangan, the Housing and Residence Service (Disperkim) of Central Java, and the Forest Plants Certification and Seeding Center (BSPTH).
During her opening speech, Prof. Kusni revealed that the community service would last for three days, starting from June 12, 2025. The service itself was carried out by the Student Executive Board Student Family (BEM KM) at Udinus, involving activists from fifteen different Student Activity Units and Student Organizations. They will be spread over nine villages in Kandangan per the necessities of those villages.
“On these three days, we shall help the locals of Kandangan Sub-district in nine particular villages, including Caruban, Kandangan, Wadas, Malebo, Samiranan, Rowo, Tlogopucang, Kembangsari, and Gesing,” she uttered.
The duration of the program differs from Field Study and Community Service at other universities. These activists are not regular students, but students who are members of units and organizations at Udinus.

Moreover, Prof. Kusni mentioned there were several work programs to be done, including installing road signs, giving to the website, planting trees, and hosting a part.
“These nine villages will also receive programs from our activists, including socialization about stunting, entrepreneurship, and many more. We decided to involve our students as activists to also help the local community, instead of only focusing on theories,” she continued.
Warm Greetings
The Sub-district Head of Kandangan, Hari Nugroho, S.Sos., M.M., warmly welcomed the arrival of the activists. He expressed his gratitude to Udinus for choosing the Kandangan Sub-district as a place for this community service. He even hoped for Kandangan to be the location again in the upcoming years.
“Kandangan Sub-district consists of 16 villages. This year, only nine of them are covered in this community service. Hopefully, in the upcoming years, Kandangan will be chosen as a location for this service. I am very certain that the impact is huge, even though this community service only lasted for three days,” she revealed. (Humas Udinus/Penulis: Ika. Editor: Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
