Career Center of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) successfully held a job fair event. It was attended by dozens of big companies across Indonesia. The 26th job fair served as a bridge between 3.490 jobseekers consisting of Udinus’ alumni and the general public who are seeking job opportunities for free.

The fair took place in the Hall of the E Building from December 2nd to 3rd, 2023. For the first time after the Pandemic, the Udinus Job Fair returned and conducted offline again. This event offered opportunities for job seekers and companies to directly interact with each other through booth facilities that are provided.

Dr. Sendi Novianto, S.Kom., M.T., the Head of Udinus’ Alumni and Career Service, reported that 18 companies were participating in the Job Fair. Furthermore, there are different types of companies that are available to be registered by job seekers, including those in banking, software development, garment, and laboratory fields.

“It is reported that there were 2225 jobseekers of Udinus alumni and 1265 from the public. Our goal is to be an excellent bridge for those who are looking for jobs. This job fair is also part of Udinus’ effort in deducting the rate of unemployment in Indonesia, particularly in Semarang City, Indonesia” said Dr. Sendi.

“On this ocassion, we are implementing a paperless system so that jobseekers no longer have to bring any files physically because their CV has been uploaded on Udinus’ career center system. Moreover, attendants only need to scan the provided barcode on each of the companies’ booths,” He added.

Job fair is a routine activity held by Udinus’ Career Center. Every year there would be 3 Job fairs organized, which usually aligned with Udinus’ graduating period. This event aims to give advantage to all graduates to have the chance to dive into the professional world after completing college.

Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustad, M.Sc., the Vice-Chancellor I for Academic Affairs, was also present to deliver a speech. During his speech, He expressed his hope that the Job Fair would not only serve as a platform for Udinus' graduates to explore job opportunities but also foster connections among jobseekers and companies. These connections, he believed, could organically develop into a community exchanging valuable information about the industrial world.

"We designed our lectures with the PBL curriculum that provides students with case examples in the industrial world. Through the job fair, we will also see how relevant the curriculum is to the industrial world. "Hopefully Udinus’ alumni who participate can get the jobs they wanted," he concluded.Various facilities are also offered in job fair activities at Udinus.
