Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) is committed to improving the education quality. This commitment is shown by having the Animation Department accredited as Excellent by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
This accreditation was officially listed in the decree issued by BAN-PT No. 4555/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/STr/VI/2024. It was issued on June 4th, 2024.
Dr. Khafiizh Hastuti, M.Kom., (the Head of the Animation Department) stated that this Excellent accreditation showed the enormous commitment of this department, particularly the commitment to shaping remarkable workforces to contribute to the country in the creative industry.
“This accreditation is not the ultimate destination of our journey in improving our department. Shortly, we will also aim to improve various aspects, encompassing academic aspects, facilities, and aspects regarding our faculty members. By doing so, our future graduates will be better and able to compete professionally,” she uttered.
Dr. Drs. Abdul Syukur, M.M., (the Dean of the Computer Science Faculty) expressed his pride in the accreditation. According to him, the Key Performance Index (IKU) of every department must also be maintained and overseen, particularly the Human Resources and facilities.
“This Excellent accreditation is truly a token of pride for us. It aligns with our goals of pushing all departments within the Computer Science Faculty to earn Excellent accreditation. Furthermore, it is also our commitment to shape our students to be creative. Thus, they can contribute to the industry or establish a business by the time they graduate,” he emphasized.
Before this, three departments within the Computer Science Faculty earned Excellent accreditation. Those departments include the Undergraduate Informatics Department (TI), the Information System Department, and the Communication Science Department. This success shows that Udinus, particularly the Computer Science Faculty is committed to maintaining its education quality, as well as aiming to improve the quality of its departments.
Sufficient learning facilities are also focal points of the Animation Department. Currently, students already have access to various facilities, including an animation lab, a multimedia studio, and other modern facilities. These facilities allow students to practice and develop their animation properly.
With this excellent accreditation, the Animation Department is prepared to produce competent workforces in the creative industry. Thus, serving its purpose to positively contribute to the education sector in Indonesia and actively participate in forming the young generation to be accomplished. (Humas Udinus/Haris.
