‘Finish what you've started', is the motivation that drives Rangga Dwi Saputra to pursue his dream in the programming field until he reaches his final goal, which is to become an expert in mobile development. The undergraduate student of the Informatics Program of The Computer Science Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) itu menyadari perkembangan teknologi yang semakin cepat di era sekarang ini. Apabila tidak mengikuti perkembangan, akan sulit juga untuk berkembang.

With the goal he had determined, the student who is familiarly called ‘Rangga’ participated in various activities to support his skills. One of them was the Internship program called MSIB, Rangga successfully qualified and underwent an internship program at Telkomsat LLC. He was chosen to work at the IT Mobile Developer division.

“During my internship, I worked on 3 big projects. I worked on building 2 applications used within the company, namely TsatGo for employee attendance and 3WINS IOT to monitor IOT devices spread outside the company's location. Additionally, there is 1 customer Digital Touch Point application: MyTelkomsat, for the company's external needs including the service of selling satellite to customers," explained Rangga.

During the project, Rangga admitted that his technical skills were very necessary and kept being honed. Previously, in participating in the internship program, there were several preparations that he had to do. He had to prepare both his soft skills and hard skills. Because both of them are very important and interrelated.

“In the corporate world, we are not only looking for candidates with proper hard skills but also great soft skills. Such as attitude, public speaking, and communication. I also had to prepare my latest CV," he explained.

During his time learning programming, Rangga mentioned that the most important thing was to fully understand the basic concepts. For instance, we have to understand the logic, programming, data structures, and algorithms. Other must-have skills consist of the ability to think analytically to solve problems systematically, a deep understanding of using the programming language, and debugging skills to find and correct errors in certain code.

"It is also important to have independent learning skills because technology continues to develop over time. A programmer must constantly learn and adapt to various tools and techniques. The ability to collaborate is also important because many programming projects are carried out with teams," said Rangga.

Actively Participating Organizations to Enhance Skills

His desire to develop himself holistically and expand his network is what encouraged him to join the organization. According to him, joining these organizations allows him to learn various perspectives, which can upscale his ability and leadership.

“Through Doscom, I understand the programming world. At HIPMI organization, I learned about entrepreneurship and business. Then at GDSC, I gained a better understanding of the development of Google-based solutions. ”

During his time participating in those activities, Rangga also said that Udinus provides a lot of support, both academically and non-academically.

“I am very grateful for the support from campus. The reason why I got the chance to become the recipient of the Djarum scholarship is because of the support from the university," said Rangga who was qualified to receive a scholarship by Djarum as well as chosen as the ai4impact ambassador.

Rangga, who was born in 2002 is hoping to be able to develop technical skills and apply his knowledge more professionally. Rangga also conveyed a message to his fellow students to not be afraid to try and fulfill their responsibilities.
