On the second day of the 2024 Dinus Inside, the Medicine Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) hosted a workshop for freshmen on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024. This event includes an explanation concerning Work Safety Procedures and a public lecture featuring speakers from the partners of the Medicine Faculty.

During the Work Safety Procedures workshop, Dr. Eni Mahawati, M.Kes.—the Vice Dean of the Medicine Faculty—stated the importance of understanding the standard practical work guidelines. She emphasized that within the medical sector, safety and attention are important to prevent accidents.

“Students must be aware of the danger of chemicals, how to use the laboratories and the Work Safety Procedures. These three aspects are necessary before they practice as physicians,” she explained.

In addition to the workshop, the Medicine Faculty also hosted a public lecture featuring AKNP dr. Adi Purnowo, Sp.B., the Chairman of the Bhayangkara Hospital. On that occasion, dr. Adi Purnowo stated that the Central Public Hospital was an important facility, which is currently partnering with the Medicine Faculty at Udinus to support medical education programs.

At the event, Dr. dr. M. Abdul Hakam, Sp. PD., the Head of the Health Service of Semarang, was also featured to discuss the Secondary Prevention Among Teenagers. The public lecture provided insight to the freshmen concerning the importance of preventive efforts in maintaining public health, particularly among teenagers.

With this lecture, the freshmen of the Medicine Faculty are expected to prepare for their upcoming studies and careers as physicians.

As additional information, the Dinus Inside itself is a student orientation event for freshmen, with a total of 3,567 freshmen participating in the event. The event, which lasts for three days, aims to introduce freshmen to the academic systems and various important aspects on campus. (Humas Udinus/Cantika WTDN. Foto: Humas Udinus)
