Determined to improve the accreditation of all faculties, the Quality Assurance Institution (LPM) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) invited Prof. H. Ari Purbayanto, Ph.D.,—an Executive Director at the Higher Education Accreditation Board (BAN-PT)—to a discussion entitled External Quality Assurance System (SPME).
The External Quality Assurance System (SPME) was themed ‘Regulations of Higher Education Institutions and Study Programs.’ The discussion was opened directly by Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom, the Chancellor of Udinus, with all deans and department heads accompanying him in the conference room located on the first floor of the H building at Udinus. The event itself took place on Thursday, July 28th, 2022.
During the discussion, Prof. H. Ari Purbayanto, Ph.D., took a deep dive into the strategies to achieve Excellent accreditation. The professor explained that leadership transformation must be maintained even though the leader of an organization or institution saw a major change. This is done to ensure the accreditation process and internal quality assurance are conducted properly.
“The fact that Udinus is accredited as Excellent speaks for itself. Every department head must understand the aspects to be improved during the quality assurance process. This will allow the department to achieve the Excellent accreditation,” he revealed.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom.,—the Chancellor of Udinus—stated that the External Quality Assurance System was carried out to improve the education quality of the campus. The chancellor further added that it was a prideful moment to feature a professor from the Accreditation Board to share his knowledge concerning entrepreneurship.
“Hopefully, every department on campus will eventually be accredited as excellent, we have indeed had several tricks and strategies to achieve this goal. From here, we would like to double our efforts in leading all departments to get Excellent accreditations,” he revealed.
At the discussion, several prominent figures were present including Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustad, M.Si., (the Vice Chancellor I of Academic Affairs), Dr. Guruh Fajar Shidik, S.Kom., M.Cs., (the Vice Chancellor II of General and Financial Affairs), Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., (the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs), and Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, S.T., (the Vice Chancellor IV of Research and Partnership Affairs). Furthermore, all deans of faculties and department heads also made an appearance.
The event lasted for two days, with the second day being open to the public using the Zoom Meeting platform. There were roughly 154 attendants at the discussion consisting of instructors from Udinus and other institutions.
According to Prof. Supriadi Rustad, M.Si., the Quality Assurance Institution (LPM) at Udinus had essentially become a crucial unit. Furthermore, he noted that there had not been many educational institutions in which the quality assurance institution provided much tangible contribution.
“Currently, we can see that our Quality Assurance Institution (LPM) is good enough to manage internal matters. During the discussion, we expect to better our service to further contribute to the public,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
