The Information System Student Association (HM SISFO) of Udinus established a community gathering dedicated to improving the digital visibility and economy of small milkfish businesses (UMKM) in Krobokan, West Semarang, Semarang, Central Java. The Community's formation was a step to improve the economy of the region.
HM Sisfo implemented the circular economic system based on technopreneurship through the Strengthening Student Organization Capacity Program (PPKO) in Krobokan, Semarang. Krobokan had been under the cultivation system of HM Sisfo. In the process, the event’s formation was attended by 26 milkfish entrepreneurs, Krobokan authority, LPMK Krobokan, and the HM Sisfo team led by Satrio Bisma Bramantyo. Dr. Arry Maulana Syarif S.S, M.Kom., a lecturer from Information System Major, was also present.
Satrio Bisma Bramantyo, the head organizer, explained that the technopreneurship-based circular economic system was applied to improve Krobokan’s economy. They involved all of the small milkfish businesses in the region to apply this newly-found economic system. Satrio emphasized that there were three main programs organized by HM Sisfo in the PPKO, starting with a community formation for the small milkfish businesses.
So far, the Krobokan Authority has owned a gathering covering all the small businesses in Krobokan. The community gathering initiated by HM Sisfo will later be filled with small milkfish businesses and curing businesses through a smoking process, to exchange information and be an active community in performing various activities.
“Next, we will implement IoT and compose branding strategies for the milkfish entrepreneurs in Krobokan. At the moment, Krobokan has been under our cultivation system and designated as One Village One Product (OVOP) for milkfish products,” he explained.
The inauguration and discussion of the community’s formation took place on the 2nd floor of the BKM Arta Kawula Building, Krobokan, Semarang. Additionally, PPKO is a strengthening student organization capacity program through a series of student organizations’ coaching processes by the University as a part of community service and empowerment initiatives.
Community service done by HM Sisfo serves as proof of the success of the Information System’s educational program. Arry Maulana Syarif, the Head of Information System Major at Udinus, stated that the success was proof that HM Sisfo could implement knowledge and skills in society, particularly in the milkfish industry.
"HM Sisfo's success in building a partnership with Krobokan Authority in West Semarang showcases their independence, understanding, and responsibility toward the environment and society. We hope HM Sisfo’s dedication may positively impact the businesses,” he spoke.
Overall, there will be a road map spanning for less than three years, starting with societal empowerment in 2023, continued by market digitalization in 2024, and concluding with production improvement using the supporting app. (Humas Udinus/Alex Foto: Dok. Prodi S-1 Sistem Informasi)
