The Student Activity Unit Wartadinus Campus Pers at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) shared its knowledge journalistic with the new members of the 2023/2024 period. This event was initiated through a seminar, organized on October 12th, 2023 at the Gallery of the Udinus.

The Basic Journalistic Training (BJT) emphasized the theme ‘Build Harmony and Show Our Creativity in Journalism.’ The Head of the event organizer, Aditya Gilang Pangestu said the purpose behind this training was to form a strong harmony and creativity for all members in making a strong and intriguing work of journalism.

“The Harmony that we mentioned earlier meant to embody the alignment of facts and narrations. Meanwhile, the creativity is reflected by innovative delivery, starting from the writing process until the visual presentation. This activity also aims to get to know better between senior and junior members to form good teamwork,” explained Gilang.

This seminar, which was a part of the BJT 2023 series activities, was attended by the representatives of other Units and Organizations at Udinus, creating an opportunity to study together about journalism. In addition to that, the seminar also featured four speakers who are proficient in the respective division at Wartadinus. They discussed four materials, it was about writing, photography, design, and videography. 

“EDFAT itself consists of Entire, Detail, Frame, Angle, and Time. Entire is the whole way of portraying an event. Detail is a detailed matter in an event. Frame is how to put an object inside a photo. Angle is the placement of photo shooting, and time is the right timing to shoot a photo, capturing the correct moment as well,” said Regyna.

Moreover, Switta Amalia Hapsari, M.Ikom., shared her knowledge about writing article features and straight news. Besides that, Muhammad Hasan Basori, M.A., brought the next material related to graphic design on journalistic content layout. Last but not least, Haris Yulianto explained videography, he discussed about building reality through audio-visual mediums.

Cantika Caramina, one of Wartadinus' new members for the 2023/2024 period, revealed that the material given during the seminar session was very clear and covered all of the needs of each of the divisions at Wartadinus. She also mentioned how exciting the event was.

“The discussion session with the speakers has provided material that suits the needs of the division at Wartadinus. The explanations are easily understood, along with examples that are relatable to youth’s taste,” said Cantika.
