Study Program of
Applied Bachelor of Film and Television
GREETINGS FROM
The Head of Film and Television Study Program
DR RURI SUKO BASUKI M.Kom
The Study Program of Film and Television at Udinus has operated since 2016 under decree No.42/KPT/I/2016., issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. Our study program serves as a response to the significant growth of the creative economy sector in Indonesia, particularly in the sub-sectors of film, animation, and video. As such, this study program plays a crucial role in advancing this growing sector by combining quality, quantity, and contextualization to facilitate its development.
The ongoing transition from the virtual community era to the metaverse era has the potential to create a balanced marketing network for various products, including film production. It is proven by the current market of filmmaking that has been widely opened along with positive competition to achieve funding.
Different from the previous funding system, it is usually known that a group of filmmakers must have a strong connection with the investor, sponsor, and philanthropy agencies. Meanwhile, the present film funding has its own market mechanism that requires a comprehensive approach.
In addition to the important active connection between producer and consumer, proper infrastructure such as government, private company, and audience are essential for producing, distributing, and promoting films. The government’s role is to give the right regulation, while the private companies are turning film as the pioneer of intellectual diversity including its audience in placing films that are not merely entertainment but also a form of literary support.
Aiming to give uniqueness in synergizing quality, quantity, and contextual film, the presence of the film and television program at Universtas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) becomes the advocate of development to uphold the national film ecosystem.
