The Undergraduate Communication Science Program received study program approval from the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) under Decree No. 564/E/O/2013, dated September 25, 2013, and it was launched in 2014. In 2015, the Undergraduate Communication Science Program received a 'B' accreditation from the National Accreditation Body for Higher Education (BAN-PT), as per Decree No. 395/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/V/2015, dated May 15, 2015. The current transition from the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4.0) to the emerging Fifth Industrial Era (5.0) encourages the need for students to prepare themselves for the corporate world. This preparation includes the ability to create job opportunities, aligning with the university's emphasis on fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. Today's workforce demands not just routine work but also calls for creativity and innovative thinking. In addition to honing hard skills, students should develop their soft skills. The undergraduate program in Communication Science at Udinus offers two majors, namely Business Communication and Creative Art Communication. These majors aim to equip students with the skills and knowledge required for success in the evolving corporate field, particularly in the digital economy and creative industry sectors.
The undergraduate program in Communication Science also offers the 'Kampus Merdeka' or 'Freedom to Learn' program (MBKM), aligning with the policies of the Indonesian Ministry of Education. This program is divided into five categories: Industrial Work Course (KKI), Business Work Course (KKU), International Program Course (KPI), Research Work Course (KKP), and Humanity Work Course (KKK). All five programs are designed to encourage students to acquire diverse knowledge that will benefit them when entering the corporate world. Additionally, they provide students with opportunities to have the experience of learning outside study programs. In today's digital economy era, where IT-based industries are growing rapidly, students are expected to be prepared for their future career paths.
The Bachelor of Communication Science program at Udinus holds a strong network, both nationally and internationally, with various universities and industries. This extensive network is expected to create a conducive ecosystem for students. Designed to meet the needs of students, the undergraduate Communication Science program aims to emerge a new generation of professionals who excel in their respective fields, equipping them to thrive in a global competition for a brighter future.
